BLACKBURN CANAL FEST 2013, was the baby of Mr Bill Charnley and Mr Kelvin Gudger who started to collate ideas to hold a Canal Festival in Blackburn in November 2012, The idea was introduced by the Canal & River Trust who held a similar event in Burnley at the weavers triangle sister site to Eanam Wharf.

At first they were hit be several red tape obstructions but with the enlisted help of local business and workers at the Eanam Wharf site, a steering committee was drafted.

The 2013 event was unbelievably supported by all with over 2500 spectators over the weekend, with the knowledge and know how we have all learned from the first year the 2014 festival is going to be even bigger and better and is the only truly Canal Festival run and developed by residence of a CRT site.

Now in our fourth year and this the bicentenary of the Leeds Liverpool canal will be the biggest and best yet.

If you would like to be involved in the festival or would like to make a donation of services or funds then please do not hesitate to contact us as all help of any kind is much appreciated.
